Here's what one users says:
"I have now had SunRocket VoIP for about a year and have experienced only one outage which may be due to being in class most of the day. The outage I was a victim of only lasted for about one day with no other noticed outage of service. Recently I did have trouble making outgoing calls which lasted for about three weeks the trouble started out minor but increased to near outage conditions although in my opinion it was not an outright outage. The trouble was finally found to be a network issue and was fixed when a larger number of customers had the trouble. "
"Other than the above issues I have not had any complaints with the quality of the product and I have and would recommend this service to friends and family. I currently am still on the permanent monthly discount rate of $19.95 with the normal rate being $24.95, but one can also save a bundle and go yearly for $199 which is about 16.50 per month. This includes an incredible amount of features and the best part was the free second number which one can have at any location which SunRocket services so I now have my relatives call me via that local number which saves them on LD charges also."
Here are comments from another user:
"Ordered SunRocket on Dec. 23 and they overnighted it for FREE and it arrived Dec. 24. When I ordered, I asked for the 15 month for $199 deal and it was supposed to be over but Sunrocket let me order it anyway. The sales representative I had was EXCELLENT!!! He knew exactly what he was talking about and was very kind and respectful and easy to understand!!!"
"I received the gizmo and plugged it in behind my router and 30 seconds later, I had a dialtone and could make and receive calls. The call quality is absolutely amazing! I called several people and all of them said that the quality was better than our landline. There more features than I will ever need with Sunrocket. I have told many people about this and they can't believe how cheap the service is and how many features there are."
A very important feature that I also tested was E911. As soon as I plugged in the gizmo and got a dial tone, I dialed 911 and said this is not an emergency and told them that I was testing E911 over VOIP. They said that was fine and gave me my name and address and said that the call was being routed to the right PSAP. Way To Go Sunrocket!!!
I called tech support to upgrade the firmware of my gizmo and they were very helpful and knew exactly what they were talking about. The firmware was upgraded without a hitch. I have called tech support other times also and sometimes I have received an agent that is hard to understand but I just hang up and call again and I get somebody real good.
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend Sunrocket to anybody and everybody. By far, they have the cheapest VOIP service with excellent features and continue to work on improving their service. I emailed them at builditbetter@sunrocket.com asking for new features and got a response the next day saying that some of them would be implemented this month.
Here is a SunRocket customer who had some trouble transerfering their phone number to their new VoIP service:
"I am waiting and waiting for my number to be transferred."
"I signed up January 26th for the month to month unlimited for $24.95 - which is an amazing value over what my current phone company offers me - I pay $26.15 a month for a phone line... no voicemail, no call waiting, no caller ID...etc. I put in for my house line to be transferred (ported) a week later, after I got my phones in the mail."
"My account page says that the number was sumitted on Feb 2 but then i noticed that i had made a mistake and typed in an incorrect digit in my number. So i called Member Services and they said i would have to download, print, fill out, and FAX a form to them in order to get the correct number RE-submitted. However ridiculous this seemed to me, I did it and faxed it in at 7:15 am on February 10th. I got an email on the 19th saying that it was submitted. It is now March 27th and my number has not been transferred."
"I have called and called and called and emailed and emailed (see a pattern?) for 2 weeks now. Last week I was told byt SR that my phone company has not gotten back to SR yet. So I called my phone company and they have no record of SR contacting them at all for the port transfer. I am furious. SR said that I should be getting some sort of credit to my account since they are taking so long to get anything done, we shall wait and see if that happens."
"I just don't get it - SR has told me that it usually only takes 14 or 15 days for a number to transfer and that this is an odd case. Has anyone else had this issue?"
Another Sunrocket VoIP user answers:
"My number port took every second of the thirty days they advise, but it will happen. Eventually you cannot make outbound calls on your old phone, but inbound will work, then the number port goes all the way, and the landline is dead."
"As long as you still have the old phone service until the full number port is done, all is great. If you cancelled phone service, and then transferred the number, things MAY get messy..."
